Car Pool - For those of you coming from "up north", folks will be meeting in the BiMart / Shop N' Kart parking lot to carpool down to Orleans. Please meet us in the gravel part of the parking lot (big field next to Shop N' Kart) at 2:00. The shopping center is on the corner of Highway 66 and Tolman Creek. Please RSVP to jeffersonfishsociety@yahoo.com to save a spot on the carpool.

Travel east on CA-96 for 109 miles.

February 10, 2011, Roseburg, OR, China Palace. Ralph Lampman of Oregon State University gave a presentation on Pacific lamprey passage, migration, and habitat use in the North Umpqua subbasin. Rich Grost of PacifiCorp also shared some underwater photography tips to get that perfect fish print.

November 18, 2010, Medford, OR, Bruno's Pizza. Bob Hunter, staff attorney for WaterWatch of Oregon, talked about the history of dam removal on the Rogue River. With the removal of Gold Ray Dam this year, the Rogue River now runs freely for 157 miles for the first time in 106 years. Gold Ray Dam removal was preceded by the removal of Savage Rapids Dam in 2009, and the removal of Gold Hill Diversion Dam and the notching of Elk Creek Dam in 2008. Together, these dam removals represent one of the most significant river restoration efforts in the nation.

May 13 2010, Klamath Falls, OR, The Creamery Brew Pub and Grill. Dan Roby of Oregon State University gave a presentation on a project aimed at relocating Caspian tern colonies from the Columbia River to the Klamath Basin with the potential affects on fish populations in the basin.

February 20 2010, McKinnleyville, CA, Six Rivers Brewery. Andrew Kinzinger, Humboldt State University gave a presentation on sculpin and rocks (some might say this is one in the same) to help us all understand geology and fish distribution in the Pit River system.

October 29 2009, Medford, Or, Bruno's Pizza. Will Harling presented a humorous, informative, and thought provoking snapshot of things going on in the Mid-Klamath region.

February 19 2009, Medford, OR, Bruno's Pizza. Scott Wright shared some of the biological and physical impacts, trials and tribulations, lessons learned, and personal and professional insights that he has gained from implementation of large scale dam removal projects in the region.

May 14 2009, Roseburg, Or, China Palace. Laura Jackson, District Fisheries Biologist from ODFW’s Umpqua Watershed District shared a presentation on the Umpqua River steelhead ecology and management..
